Afghan-born artist Behnaz Babazadeh hopes to spark a conversation about the burka … by wrapping herself in candy.
When Behnaz Babazadeh was young, her family moved from Afghanistan to the US. She loved almost everything about her new home — especially America’s amazing selection of candy — but she also loved wearing her familiar pink-flowered headscarf, which she’d grown used to wearing as part of her school uniform in her old home. So she proudly wore it to her first day of American school — where she found herself facing down the piercing stares of her classmates and grilled by the school security guard. continue on ideas.ted.com
Si chiama Drosera, che vuol dire coperta di rugiada. Invece di mangiare noi le piante lei mangia gli insetti.

“The Jelly Film” by Jenny van Sommers
Le gelatine hanno una propria personalità.
Quella in basso a destra è un po’ shoe-gazer. Poi c’è quella super estroversa in alto a destra. Quella arancione è sempre di buonumore. E quella marrone è come quelle persone che stanno lì in discoteca e all’improvviso hanno una botta di energia, poi si sente imbarazzata e smette all’improvviso di ballare..

“Jellies all have distinct personalities and everybody relates to a different one”
says van Sommers of the appeal of each delectable that marks her first foray into film. “The one on the bottom right is a bit of a shoe-gazer (like me). Then there’s the super-extrovert on the top right-hand side. The orange jelly is the person who is always in a good mood. And the brown one is the person at the disco who is standing there and then suddenly gets a burst of energy and really goes for it, then gets embarrassed and stops dancing. He’s a bit of a weirdo.”
