Domani è la giornata Book&Sandwiches. Il libro presentato dal Presidente di Popai Italia, Daniele Tirelli si chiama: ADAPT. Why Success Always Starts With Failure di Tim Harford. Ho pensato come rendere interessante il catering. Questo è l’approccio alla base di questa iniziativa. Così armata di tempo, curiosità e pazienza mi sono letta il libro e ho tirato fuori quattro temi fondamentali: BACK TO BASIS, EVOLUTION, TRIAL AND ERROR e WATER. Cosa abbinare a queste parole?

BACK TO BASIS mi ha fatto venire in mente le cose, semplici, pane e acqua, pane e salame, pane e mortadella. Basta con le sofisticazioni. Così una bella busta del pane con due panini semplicissimi, gusti a sorpresa. To find solutions to some of the big problems – climate change, financial instability, global poverty –we must go back to basics, examining the circumstances in which ingenuity has broken through in the past, and then considering how to replicate them, quindi UN SEMPLICE PANE E QUALCOSA..

EVOLUTION: The way companies have risen and fallen throughout history neatly resembles Darwinian selection. Mi ha fatto venire in mente uno spiedino che evolve nella forma e nel gusto. Dal piccolo a grande e da dolce e salato. SPIEDINO IN EVOLUZIONE

TRIAL AND ERROR:A reliable measure of how efficient a system is at generating success is the volume of failures it can safely expose. NON TUTTE LE CIAMBELLE RIESCONO COL BUCO. Ciambelline al vino una diversa dall’altre.

Per finire WATER: How do we, as a species, get surfers to master the waves? By putting thousands of them in the water, trying and failing again and again. You can’t have the occasional glorious success without thousands of failures. ACQUE MOLTO CALME per l’acqua liscia e ACQUE MOLTO AGITATE per l’acqua gassata.

English version.

Tomorrow is Book&Sandwiches. The book presented by POPAI’s president Daniele Tirelli is ADAPT. Why Success Always Starts With Failure di Tim Harford.. I’ve been working how to make an appropriate catering. That’s the approach of this initiative. With time, curiosity and a lot of patience, I’ve read the book, and isolated 4 different key words: BACK TO BASIS, EVOLUTION, TRIAL AND ERROR e WATER. Which food for thiese key words?

BACK TO BASIS suggested me simple things like bread, and water, and ham or cheese. A simple bread bag with two surprise small sandwiches. To find solutions to some of the big problems– climate change, financial instability, global poverty –we must go back to basics, examining the circumstances in which ingenuity has broken through in the past, and then considering how to replicate them, quindi SIMPLE BREAD WITH SOMETHING.

EVOLUTION: The way companies have risen and fallen throughout history neatly resembles Darwinian selection. A kebab evolving in taste from salt to sweet, from small to big. EVOLVING KEBAB

TRIAL AND ERROR:A reliable measure of how efficient a system is at generating success is the volume of failures it can safely expose. NOT EVERY DONUT IS BORN WITH A HOLE . Small wine donuts with different shapes.

WATER: How do we, as a species, get surfers to master the waves? By putting thousands of them in the water, trying and failing again and again. You can’t have the occasional glorious success without thousands of failures. VERY CALM WATERS for natural water VERY ROUGH WATERS for sparkling water.
